Jamesport Man Charged With Shooting at Others While Hunting

GRUNDY COUNTY, MO – A Jamesport man is facing a felony charge after allegedly shooting at another person while hunting on Saturday.

According to the Grundy County Sheriff’s Department 22-year old Allen Detwelier and his brother were hunting in southwest Grundy County when they were confronted about a turkey harvested on a property on which they were trespassing.

It is alleged that two hunters lawfully on the property gave chase at which time Allen Detwelier fired a round from his shotgun at the men.

Detweiler was cited on multiple game violations and felony unlawful use of a weapon. He is held in the Grundy County jail.
