Jefferson School Superintendent Tim Jermain announced that the district has been approved for the School Safety Grant. The announcement came at a meeting held Wednesday. The grant will amount to $50,000 for the district.
In old business, the board approved a motion to approve the adoption of the Nodaway County Enhanced Enterprise Zone Addendum. The addendum establishes an minimum property tax abatement of improvements to real property that doesn’t include land or personal property. The abatement would be for a term of 10 years. All taxing districts within the Nodaway County EEZ must hold a vote on its approval.
The Jefferson board also approved their filing dates for next April’s election. Those dates will be December 5th through December 26th.
