Jefferson FFA State Contest Team Finishes 2nd In Columbia
Northwest Missouri teams faired well in the Dairy Foods Contest competition at the Missouri State FFA Convention.
The Jefferson Dairy Foods team finished 2nd place overall and just 7 points away from 1st place. Aubrey Mattson, Andrea Riley, and Matt Jermain of Jefferson were Group I individuals. Newtown Harris finished 4th overall and were a Group I team. Johannes Oaks, Grant Oaks, Landry Oaks, and Carly Smith were all Group I individuals. Savannah finished 3rd. Northwest Tech was 7th and also a Group I team. Connor Blackford and Anna Lager were the Northwest Tech Group I individuals. Putnam County’s Cora Hartwig, Northeast Nodaway’s Lauren McIntyre, Albany’s Jerrid Bunten, and Gilman City’s Kelsey Sperry were also Group I individuals.
Gallatin’s Entomology Team finished 6th at State Contest and was a Group I team. Emma Christopher and Abigail Burns were Gallatin’s Group I individuals. Katie Hyatt of Maysville was a Group I individual. Milan’s Jackson Smith and Adan Callejo were also Group I individuals.
Milan had a Group I team in FFA Knowledge. Milan’s Group I individuals were Delaney Banner and Avery Sayre. Ethen Elder of Gilman City and Kamryn Brown of Tarkio were also Group I individuals.
North Andrew’s Floriculture team finished 8th at FFA State Contest. North Andrew’s Corban Warren had the second highest individual score in the competition.
Jefferson also finished among the Group I contest teams in Ag Sales. Jefferson was 6th overall. Stephanie Turpin and Claire Galbraith were both Group I individuals. Trenton finished 7th and in Group I. Trenton’s Group I individuals were Rebecca Urich, Gracyn Rongey, and Hannah Bowe.
Putnam County finished among the Group I teams in Dairy Cattle. Brock Munden was their Group I individual. Other Group I individuals include Blake Eitel of Milan, Ryan Allen of South Nodaway, and Keygun Johnson and Jerry Gilpatrick of North Harrison.
