Jury Trial Set for Man Accused of Murdering Deimel Brothers

A jury trial has been set for the man accused of murdering the Deimel brothers.

Garland Joseph Nelson appeared in court Thursday with his defense team. The defense objected to a trial setting but the trial is set for three weeks beginning February 7, 2022, at 9:30 am according to court documents.

Nelson is charged with two counts of first-degree murder, two counts of abandonment of a corpse, and two counts of tampering with physical evidence as well as 4 other charges after the Deimel brothers went missing last year. Later, law enforcement linked Nelson to the reason the brothers had traveled from Wisconsin on a business matter. Other evidence was gathered and the bodies of the victims were found.

A pre-trial conference is scheduled for next December.
