A Kansas City man was sentenced Monday in Clinton County Court for a felony assault charge.

Court documents say Moises Esquipulas Ramirez was sentenced to 15 years in prison Monday.

Ramirez was charged with felony first-degree assault, in 2018, after striking a trooper with his vehicle while attempting to flee a traffic stop on Interstate 35.

A probable cause statement says Ramirez fled into Daviess County, where he was taken into custody.
