Kansas man Hurt After Hitting Excelsior Springs Man’s Semi

A Kansas man as left with serious injuries after his car hit a semi truck that was stopped along Highway 33 in Clay County.

According to Troop A of the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a 2005 International being operated by 33-year-old Excelsior Springs resident John Q. Reppy was stopped on Missouri Route 33 south of Northeast 180th street in Clay County partially blocking the roadway. At 9:40 A.M. a 2003 Subaru Baja being driven by 78-year-old Pawnee Rock, Kansas resident Gerald F. Schmidt struck the rear of that semi.

Reppy was uninjured and drove his vehicle from the scene, Schmidt however was not wearing a seat belt and suffered serious injuries. He was taken to Dwight D. Eisenhower VA Medical Center in Leavenwoerth, Kansas for treatment.
