Kansas Man Injured in Buchanan County Crash Sunday

Kansas Man Injured in Buchanan County Crash Sunday

A Kansas man suffered injuries in a Buchanan County crash Sunday afternoon.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports the accident occurred around 4:45 Sunday afternoon on northbound I-29, at mile marker 46.6, as 61-year-old Leavenworth, Kansas resident Colon I. Marldonado, started to slow for traffic.

Authorities say another northbound vehicle driven by 21-year-old Olathe, Kansas resident Alexander T. Baiza struck the rear of Marldonado’s vehicle.

The two vehicles traveled off the west side of the road and came to a rest in the median.

Marldonado suffered moderate injuries and sought treatment at Mosaic in Saint Joseph.

Troopers say both men wore seat belts at the time of the crash.
