Kansas Man Injured in Saturday Crash South of Rock Port

A Lawrence, Kansas man suffered injuries in a Saturday evening crash in Atchison County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred on I-29, a mile south of Rock Port, as a vehicle driven by 37-year-old Francis W. Byington headed northbound.

Authorities say Byington lost control, slid off the east side of the road, struck the ground, struck a fence, and came to a rest.

Byington suffered minor injuries and refused medical treatment at the scene of the crash.

Troopers say he was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.
