Kidder Man Facing Five Felony Sex Crime Charges From the 90’s

A Kidder man faces five felony charges in Caldwell County Court.
Court documents say Clifford L. Butterfield faces two felony charges of rape of a victim less than 14 years of age, two felony charges of sodomy of a victim less than 14 years old, and felony first-degree statutory rape with a person less than 14 years old.
Records list the charges from 1990-1996.
A probable cause affidavit says authorities arrested Butterfield Tuesday afternoon.
The court set Butterfield’s bond at 500 thousand dollars cash only and ordered him to have no contact with the victim.
Butterfield will make an initial court appearance on November 2 at 10:00 a.m.
