King City Board Agrees To Allow 6th Grade Participation in MSHSAA Activities

King City School Board members agreed to allow 6th graders to participate in MSHSAA sponsored activities during a meeting held Monday night. The decision is being made so that King City will have enough numbers to participate in junior high softball. The vote cannot be done for a specific activity. It must be done for all activities if done for one.

King City’s board held a discussion of their summer work projects that are planned. There will not be a specific construction project undertaken. Bids will also be taken to replace some aging HVAC systems in the elementary.

Summer School dates for approved for King City following the regular school year.

3 have signed up for the two school board positions at King City.  Incumbents Josh Wall and Curt Roberts have signed up for new terms. Bucky Miller will also be on the ballot.

King City’s board received retirement notices from Susan Lewis as a Speech Implementer and Anita Gilbert as a Junior High Science Teacher.

King City’s board also extended Superintendent Danny Johnson’s contract through the 2023-24 school year.
