King City Board Considers Projects For No-Tax Increase Initiative

King City School Board members discussed a potential No-Tax Increase initiative that could be explored for either renovation of construction for the King City school campus during their meeting on Wednesday night.

The district is considering the No-Tax Increase for either the construction or renovation of science classrooms for the school’s campus.

The board approved KC Audio Visual to install sound panels for the school’s new gymnasium to reduce the noise in the facility. The panels have been installed in the school’s cafeteria and have been seen as a benefit.

The board approved a budget for the 2021-22 school year. The revenues and expenditures are both right around $5.3 million dollars. The budget does reflect a slight deficit, but also includes payments for the school’s roofing project.

King City’s board also approved a Salary and Benefits Package that will lift the cap of years of experience applied toward a teacher’s compensation that comes into the King City School District.

King City’s board also accepted a retirement of Linda Rice from King City’s Special Education Department.
