King City School Board Hires New High School Secretary

King City’s Superintendent Danny Johnson updated King City School Board members on potential grant funding for summer school during their reorganizational meeting Monday night.

ESSER III funding may be available through grants that would allow for financing of a summer school program.

King City’s board reorganized at the session with Tony Washburn named President. Chuck Spiking will be Vice President. Mary Bryson will serve as Treasurer. Tammy Rapp will be the Board Secretary.

Board members approved some contributions for the sponsor and 4 students who have be selected for national FCCLA competition.

The board hired help for summer projects.

The board also hired non-certified staff.

Quincy Pope has been hired as the High School Secretary. Kristin Smith has been hired for an elementary school teaching position. Lane Schuman will take over as King City’s Boys Basketball Coach. He served as assistant coach in the last school year.
