King City Woman Injured & Charged in Gentry County Crash

A King City woman was injured and charged in a Tuesday afternoon crash in Gentry County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred on U.S. 169, about three miles north of King City, when a vehicle driven by 36-year-old Candy Roberts was heading southbound.

Troopers say Roberts struck the towed unit of another southbound vehicle attempting to make a left turn.

Roberts’ vehicle then traveled into the northbound lane and struck the rear drivers’ side of a third vehicle.

Roberts suffered moderate injuries and was taken by Life Flight to Mosaic Life Care in Saint Joseph.

Troopers say Roberts was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.

Following the accident, troopers arrested Roberts on preliminary charges of driving while intoxicated, following too closely, not having valid insurance, and not wearing a seat belt.

She was released for medical treatment.
