Lawson Man Injured in Clay County Crash Early Thursday

A Lawson man suffered injuries in a Clay County crash early Thursday.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports the accident occurred around 4:10 Thursday morning on I-35, at mile marker 30.2, as a vehicle driven by 51-year-old Charles R. Gillespie headed southbound.

Troopers say Gillespie struck a deer, suffered minor injuries, and sought treatment at Liberty Hospital.

Authorities say Gillespie did wear a seat belt at the time of the crash.
