Lawson Man Loses Control in U.S. 69 Crash Monday

A Lawson man was injured in a Clay County crash Monday afternoon.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred on U.S. 69, just south of Cameron Road, when a vehicle driven by 59-year-old William D. Wesenberg was heading northbound.

Troopers say Wesenberg lost control, slid into the left lane, and caused another northbound vehicle being driven by 72-year-old Excelsior Springs resident Nancy S. Hamilton to slide off the roadway.

Both vehicles came to a rest in a field.

Wesenberg suffered moderate injuries and was taken to Liberty Hospital for treatment.

Troopers say all involved were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash.
