Lee's Summit Man Crashes During Pursuit in Nodaway County Monday

A Lee’s Summit man suffered injuries in a Nodaway County crash Monday evening.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports the accident occurred around 9:42 Monday night on U.S. 71, about two miles north of Midway, as 43-year-old Michael D. Riley drove northbound.

Troopers say Riley travelled off the east side of U.S. 71 while being pusued by the Andrew County Sheriff’s Department.

Riley’s GMC Envoy struck a fence, struck a utility pole, overturned, and came to a rest.

Riley suffered moderate injuries and sought treatment at Mosaic in Saint Joseph.

Authorities say Riley did not wear a seat belt at the time of the crash.
