Lexington Man Suffers Serious Injuries in Early Morning Crash

A Lexington man suffered injuries in a Lafayette County crash early this morning.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred around 5:00 this morning on Highway 13, south of Slusher School Road, as 72-year-old Thomas D. Thuirer drove southbound.

Troopers say Thuirer went off the left side of the road, through a field, struck a field entrance, became airborne, and overturned.

Thuirer suffered serious injuries and sought treatment at Centerpoint Medical Center.

Authorities say Thuirer did not wear a seat belt at the time of the crash.
