Livingston County Sheriff Looking to “Ticket” Youth

The Livingston County Sheriff says this summer they will be working hard giving tickets to the youth of the County.

The Sheriff’s Office has partnered with Hick’s Hometown Drive-In in Chillicothe and will soon be working together to give 500 “tickets” to area youth rewarding them with a free ice cream cone.

According to a release from Sheriff Steve Cox, the overall goal is to give the Sheriff’s Office chances to meet and talk with people, make friends, and build trust with the youth and community. He says they will be rewarding young people for such things as bicycle or pedestrian safety, properly wearing seatbelts or car seats, helping their parents or grandparents, or many other opportunities.

Deputy Sergeant Dustin Woelfle developed the plan to help promote community policing.
