Livingston County Sheriff “Very Time Consuming Calls For Service That Ended Well”

August 24 about 4:00 p.m. Law Enforcement Center Dispatch received a call from a lady reporting her adult grandson jumped from her moving van north of the Chillicothe Correctional Center and walked into a field. Livingston County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) and Chillicothe Department of Emergency Services (CDES) sent an ambulance to check on the man.

After a lengthy discussion on the cell phone, the man came out of hiding, was checked by ambulance staff, and ultimately refused any treatment. The man agreed to ride with his grandmother and return to Trenton. Apparently, the man changed his mind after a few more miles in the van then chose to walk. Officers checked for the male multiple times but he kept hiding in the brush when law enforcement was in the area. A tracking K-9 and Drone were on scene but unable to locate the male that night.

Wednesday morning LCSO staff responded to a citizen report of a partially nude male near LIV 216 and U.S. 65. The man had obviously spent a lot of time in the brush and agreed to go to the Emergency Room to be checked for dehydration and/or other issues. A Crisis Intervention Team report is being completed for possible mental health and/or drug addiction issues.
