Livingston County Sherriff – 04/16/2021 – Incidents, Arrests and MORE Public Information

 

Incident Reports:

April 01 LCSO responded to location in Wheeling on Domestic Violence call.  Investigation determined the couple had been verbally arguing for hours and no crime was committed.  Both parties given information on separating and having some peace.

LCSO has completed an investigation from February 08 regarding a fraudulent attempt to collect insurance money on a fabricated dog bite claim.  Report being submitted to the prosecuting attorney for consideration.  Suspect was wanting $10,000 from the dog owners.

April 04 LCSO began investigation into assault involving a juvenile.  The incident allegedly took place northwest of Chillicothe and a suspect was named and has been interviewed.

April 05 LCSO deputy completed incident report of witnessing a person with a suspended/revoked driver’s license operating a vehicle in Livingston County when the deputy was not able to make a vehicle stop.  Report being submitted to the prosecuting attorney.

April 06 LCSO began investigation of improper photos being sent through cell phone to a juvenile by a juvenile.  All parents have been contacted and have requested no prosecution of the juvenile for sending the photo(s).  Investigation is closed.

April 06 LCSO began investigation of stealing at a location in Utica.  Victim reported that unknown person(s) removed the drop hitch and ball from his parked pickup.  Investigation continues.

LCSO has continued working with several agencies regarding a recent drug trafficking arrest.  Additional charges may be filed.

 

Most Wanted Updates:

April 05 authorities in Indiana arrested Stacy Lynn Crist, 46, on Livingston County arrest warrant for alleged class D Possession of Controlled Substance-Methamphetamine.  Ms. Crist will be extradited at first opportunity once she waives extradition.

Added April 16:

Curtis L. Bassett, 54, Chillicothe, wanted on Livingston County arrest warrant for alleged class E felony Leaving the Scene of an Accident with Property Damage Exceeding $1,000.  Bond set at $50,000 on case #20LV-CR00164-01.

Tyler Montana Gibson, 28, Chillicothe, wanted on Livingston County arrest warrant for alleged Violation of Bond Conditions on original class E felony Domestic Assault-3rd degree.  Bond set at $20,000 on case #20LV-CR00632-01.

Cameron Keith Bay, 32, wanted on Livingston County arrest warrant for alleged class A misdemeanor Non-Support.  Bond set at $5,000 on case #16LV-CR00067-01.

 

Other Arrests:

April 03 at 4:10 p.m. a Chillicothe driver was stopped for traffic offense and stop resulted in the arrest of Brian Jeffery Olur Togun, 28, for alleged Failure to Register Motor Vehicle Annually and Driving While Suspended.  Mr. Togun was processed and released on summons.

April 03 about 7:08 p.m. LCSO responded to a location in the 24000 block of Highway F outside of Dawn on a call of Domestic Disturbance.  Investigation resulted in the arrest of Dennis Dale Oliver Creason, 43, Dawn for alleged Domestic Assault.  Mr. Creason was transferred to the Daviess Dekalb Regional Jail and was released on bond April 05.

April 08 LCSO arrested Matthew Brett Curtis, 40, Chillicothe, on Livingston County arrest warrant for alleged class E felony DWI-Physical Injury.  Mr. Curtis was transferred to DDRJ in lieu of $10,000 bond.

April 08 LCSO arrested Tony Lee Cashatt, 55, Chillicothe, on Livingston County arrest warrant for alleged class D felony Possession of Controlled Substance.  Mr. Cashatt was transferred to DDRJ in lieu of $20,000 bond.

April 08 LCSO and Chillicothe Police were investigating a fugitive case and arrested Steven Eugene Doss, 37, on Livingston County arrest warrant for alleged Failure to Appear in Court on 3 class D felony allegations of Receiving Stolen Property.  At the time of arrest officers seized marijuana and a syringe loaded with methamphetamine from close proximity to where Mr. Doss had been laying.  Mr. Doss was taken to DDRJ in lieu of bond.  Additional charge being sought.

April 11 at 4:30 p.m. a deputy stopped a vehicle for 95 in a 60 on U.S. 65 at LIV 216.  The Pennsylvania driver, Joel Lyndon Neuenschwander, 21, was arrested for the excessive speed, processed and posted bond.

 

Zaki:

March 31 K-9 Zaki and Deputy Leadbetter were summoned to assist the Missouri State Highway Patrol on a vehicle stop.  Zaki alerted to the odor of drug(s) being present in the vehicle.  MSHP located a controlled substance.  See MSHP for additional details.

April 11 Zaki and K-9 Deputy Nicholas Leadbetter were summoned to Linn County to assist Brookfield Police on an investigation of leaving the scene of an accident.   Authorities had located firearm(s) and marijuana in a vehicle where the driver had fled on foot.  Zaki was able to establish a track and followed this to a location to a roadway where the scent trail stopped.  Investigation showed this was fairly close to a suspect’s home.  Further investigation resulted in Linn County authorities completing an arrest in the case.

April 12 at 8:32 p.m. Zaki was called to assist the MSHP on a one vehicle traffic crash on LIV 237.  Information was given that one or more occupants of the vehicle were observed throwing items into a field.  MSHP asked Deputy Leadbetter if Zaki could do an article search.  Zaki located multiple containers of beer which was turned over to the MSHP.

 

Citations:

April 02 at 2:32 p.m. a Bethany driver was cited for 76 in a 60 on Highway 65 at LIV 210.

April 06 at 5:45 p.m. a Freeman MO driver was cited for 72 in a 55 on Highway 190 and LIV 233.

April 09 a deputy worked 4 hours on Traffic Enforcement Overtime Grant Project and issued 2 speeding citations and issued warnings for the following., 3 for speeding, 1 lane violation, 1 no proof of auto insurance, 2 expired license plate, 1 no front license plate and 1 for not having affixed the license plates.  At 5:05 p.m. an Illinois driver was cited for 84 in a 65 on U.S. 36 at LIV 259 and at 5:25 p.m. a Braymer driver was cited for 79 in a 65 on U.S. 36.

April 11 at 11:15 a.m. a Brunswick driver was cited for 76 in a 60 on U.S. 65 at LIV 410.

April 11 at 3:53 p.m. a St. Louis driver was cited for 80 in a 65 on U.S. 36 at LIV 261.

April 13 at 6:25 p.m. a Linn Creek driver was cited for 79 in a 65 on U.S. 36 at the Grand River.

April 13 at 10:27 p.m. a Meadville driver was cited for 52 in a 35 on Washington Street and Ryan Lane.

April 15 at 6:55 a.m. a Concordia driver was cited for 80 in a 60 on U.S. 65 at LIV 443.

 

Additional Information:

April 03 LCSO searched for a suicidal person from Maryville that was possibly in our area.  Person was later located elsewhere.

LCSO currently has 42 people in custody.
