Longtime Daviess County Commissioner, Missouri State Fair Director Dies

MARYVILLE, MO – Long-time Daviess County Commissioner Bill Arthaud passed away Monday in Maryville.  He was 71 years old.

Arthaud was born in Jamesport and graduated from Gilman City High School in 1969. He graduated from Northwest Missouri State University in 1973 with a degree in Agriculture.

He began farming and worked in the assessor’s office in Daviess County. Bill was elected County Commissioner of Daviess County in 1976 and served 18 years. Arthaud also served as Missouri State Fair Director from 1994 to 1996 and Greater Gulf State Fair Director in Mobile, Alabama from 1997 to 1999.

Arthaud is survived by his wife Lesa, daughter, Holly and son, Chance and six grandchildren. Services will be on Friday at the Bridge church in Maryville.  The obituary can be found HERE.
