Man Falls Asleep While Driving, Gets Dragged by Train and Walks Away

A man fell asleep while driving in Buchanan County and was dragged by a train.

The Buchanan County Sheriff’s Department reports that the man had fallen asleep on Monday morning and drove his vehicle through the intersection of Highway 59 and Highway 45 before driving onto the railway tracks.

The unnamed driver then woke up and tried to get off the tracks before he was hit by an oncoming train. The train struck the vehicle and eventually came to a stop with the vehicle rolling ahead.

The driver walked away from the crash without any injuries.
