Man Killed By Vehicle Leaving the Roadway
A Country Club, Missouri man was killed Wednesday evening while working in his yard when a vehicle left an adjacent roadway and struck him.
According to a release from the Platte County Sheriff’s Department Wednesday evening at 6:45 P.M. their office was notified of an accident on M Highway near H Highway. According to that release a 2015 Chevy Camaro was northbound on Route M when it left the roadway in the 22000 block.
Once off road the Camaro struck a 33-year-old Country Club, Missouri resident who was doing yard work at that property. That victim, who has not yet been identified, died at the scene of the accident.
The driver of the vehicle has been identified as 38-year-old Rushville resident Wesley Teague. Authorities say they took Teague into custody and he is being held at the Platte County Detention Center on $250,000 cash only bond.
The crash is being investigated by the Platte County Sheriff’s Office Crash Team. They say their preliminary investigation indicates alcohol was a factor in the crash.
