Man That Ran From Police Recused From Ravine In Excelsior Springs

Authorities in Excelsior Springs Monday morning rescued a man from a ravine that had run from Police Sunday night.

According to Excelsior Springs Police a man had fled from them Sunday evening, making his way into a wood line. Officers reportedly searched the area fro an extended time but were unable to locate the suspect due to darkness and the heavily wooded area.

At first light Monday officers resumed their search in the area, eventually locating the man. The suspect had fallen into a more than 30 foot deep ravine and suffered serious injuries. Medical aid was immediately called for and the Excelsior Springs Fire Department was able to execute a rope rescue of the man before the morning storms rolled in.

The suspect, who has not been named publicly, is reportedly being treated for his injuries at an area medical facility.
