(MISSOURINET) – Missouri has more than 500 cooling centers to help residents cool off during the hot temps.
One good place in many Missouri communities to go to chill out is your local library.
Jen Wildhagen, with St. Joseph Public Libraries, says she has noticed additional foot traffic coming to the library for shelter due to the dog days of summer.
Her library is also a designated warming center during the cold weather time.
Many senior centers, Salvation Army locations and local health departments are also designated cooling centers.
