A Martinsville man was injured and charged following a two-vehicle accident in Eagleville Tuesday.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident took place at the intersection of U.S. 69 and Route B in Eagleville when 83 year old John Stegmeyer entered an intersection when it was unsafe. His vehicle was hit by a pickup heading northbound on U.S. 69 highway. 66 year old Leonard Stobbe of Eagleville was driving that vehicle. Stegmayer received moderate injuries and was taken to Harrison County Community Hospital. His vehicle was totaled in the accident.
Following the crash, troopers arrested Stegmayer on preliminary charges of driving while intoxicated, operating a vehicle on a highway without a valid license, and failure to yield.
Stegmayer was released to Harrison County Community Hospital for treatment.
The accident took place at 11:30 Tuesday morning. The Harrison County Sheriff’s Department assisted the Highway Patrol.
