Maryville Man Hurt In Motorcycle vs Deer Accident

A Maryville man was left with moderate injuries Tuesday evening after his motorcycle hit a deer in the roadway.

Troop H of the Highway Patrol says 72-year-old Maryville resident Allen L. Davison was operating a 2012 Can-Am Spider northbound on U.S. Highway 71 two miles west of Barnard at 8:47 P.M. Tuesday when a deer traveled into his path on the highway.

The collision with the deer sent the motorcycle off the west side of the roadway and Davison was ejected. Both Davison and the bike came to a rest in the median.

Davison was wearing proper safety equipment but still suffered moderate injuries. He was taken by Nodaway County EMS to Mosaic Life Care in St. Joseph for treatment.
