MDC Announces Upcoming Waterfowl Workshops

A number of waterfowl workshops are coming to our listening area in the coming weeks.

The Missouri Department of Conservation says waterfowl hunters are encouraged to attend a series of public workshops taking place around the state in January, February, and March.

Participants will have the opportunity to review long-term waterfowl data about weather, migration, habitat use, harvest, and hunter opinions, and discuss their season date and zone preferences with other hunters and MDC staff.

MDC will use hunter input gathered through the workshops, combined with hunter opinion surveys, to establish Missouri’s 2021-2025 duck season dates and zones.

All of the 2020 workshops will be from 7:00-9:00 p.m.

The first listening area workshop will be in Excelsior Springs, January 29, at the Lake Doniphan Conference and Retreat Center on Doniphan Lake Road.

The second workshop will be in Saint Joseph, February 18, at the MDC Northwest Regional Office on James McCarthy Drive.

The final listening area workshop will be in Chillicothe, February 19, at the Comfort Inn and Suites on East Business 36.

No reservations are necessary.
