MDC Hosting Webcast on Missouri Copperheads This Month

A webcast on Missouri snakes is coming later this month.

The Missouri Department of Conservation invites you to join its upcoming Wild Webcast, “Secrets of Snakes: Research Revealed about Copperheads,” on Wednesday, August 17, from noon to 1 p.m.

Dr. Benjamin Jellen will reveal secrets about one of Missouri’s least understood venomous snakes, the copperhead.

Dr. Jellen spent the past several years conducting research studies on copperheads at the MDC Powder Valley Nature Center in Kirkwood, using radio telemetry technology to track movements of the snakes on nature center grounds and the surrounding area.
