MDC Invites Public to Learn How to Build Bluebird Boxes
If the surrounding landscape is appropriate, putting up a bluebird nesting box is a great way to entice Missouri’s state bird to take up residence close to your home.
Those interested in learning more about how to build and put up a bluebird nesting box can sign up for the Missouri Department of Conservation virtual program “Woodworking for Wildlife” on December 16.
This online event will be from 6-7:30 p.m.
The staff of MDC’s Andy Dalton Shooting Range and Outdoor Education Center will lead the program.
This program is for all ages.
In the program, MDC Outdoor Education Center Specialist Keith DeBow will explain how all the cuts to make a nesting box can be made out of a single board.
DeBow will show how to assemble the pieces.
He will also give tips about good nesting box locations that will attract bluebirds.
A link to sign-up for the program is available here.
