MDC’s Bob Brown Conservation Area in Holt County is Back Open

The Missouri Department of Conservation says the Bob Brown Conservation Area in Holt County is back open following major repairs to its flood-damaged infrastructure.

The 2019 flood caused damage to roads, levees, and a pump station.

Bob Brown is a 3,300-acre wetland area bordering the Missouri River and is popular with waterfowl hunters, birders, and anglers.

A levee district manages the area’s main flood protection levee.

MDC had to wait on that levee to be fixed before it could address many of the problems, said Blaine Adams, MDC regional maintenance infrastructure manager.
