MDOT Worker Killed After Struck By Vehicle Near Platte City

A longtime Missouri Department of Transportation maintenance worked died Monday in the line of duty. 61-year-old Lloyd Crawford was a longtime Missouri Department of Transportation maintenance worker.

The Missouri Department of Transportation says the incident took place in Platte County. Crawford was struck by a vehicle while performing flooding emergency work in Tracy.

Crawford had served 18 years with the Missouri Department of Transportation. His current position was Platte City Maintenance Supervisor.

Motorists are reminded to slow down and pay attention while driving in work zones. Not all work zones look alike. Work zones can be moving operations, such as striping, patching or mowing. They can also be short term, temporary lane closures to make quick repairs or remove debris from the roadway.
