Mercer Board Hears Patron’s Concerns During May Session

Mercer School Board members received concerns from a constituent regarding financial records, fundraising, Sunshine Requests, and the School Superintendent during their May meeting. Zach Martin had requested several Open Records requests in the past month.

The committee’s work for an Early Childhood Project for 0-4 year old daycare was discussed. A budget is being created by the committee to be presented in June. To this point, no money has been committed for the project.

The board also discussed the $38,000 beginning teacher salary and Career Ladder.

Mercer’s board accepted a contract recension of Cassie Moore for a Communication Arts position.

The board offered a contract for that position and a 1st grade teacher.

A contract was offered to Sheila Ash to continue as cook.
