Mercer Teen Seriously Injured In Saturday Evening Accident

A pickup was totaled, and a Mercer 14-year-old was seriously injured following an accident just east of Cainsville Saturday evening.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the 14-year-old male from Mercer was a passenger in a pickup being driven by a Mercer 16-year-old juvenile. The pickup went off the side of the roadway while heading west on Route N, 2 miles east of Mercer. The pickup struck a bridge support located in a creek. The vehicle landed in the creek but on it’s wheels.
The 14-year-old injured party was flown to a Des Moines Hospital.
The accident took place just after 9pm Saturday. The Mercer County Sheriff’s Department assisted the Highway Patrol.
