Mexican Nationals Convicted In NW Missouri Drug Distribution

The U.S. Attorney’s Office reports two Mexican nationals living in the Kansas City area have been convicted for roles in a $2.1 million conspiracy to distribute more than 100 kilograms of methamphetamine in northwest Missouri and the Kansas City metropolitan area.

40 year old Juan Guzman, also know as “Flaco” of Kansas City, Kansas, and 25 year old Maria De La Cruz Nava were found guilty to participating in a conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine and in a money-laundering conspiracy over a 4 year period, end in 2018. Guzman and Nava were found guilty of possessing firearms in furtherance of drug trafficking. Guzman was also found guilty of illegally reentering the United States after having been deported.

Five other defendants have pleaded guilty in this case. John Paul Gnat and Christopher Shawn Sharp of St Joseph are among those five defendants.
