Miami Pair Left With Minor Injuries In Caldwell County Crash

A pair of Miami, Florida residents were left with minor injuries after an early morning one vehicle crash in Caldwell County.

According to the accident report from Troop H of the Highway Patrol, at 2:10 A.M. today (Wednesday) 47-year-old Miami resident Luis J. Garcia was driving a 2017 Freightliner westbound on U.S. 36 about two miles east of Hamilton when the truck traveled off the south side of the highway.

Once off road the truck went into the median where it overturned onto its side and slid onto the eastbound lanes of U.S. 36, blocking both lanes of the highway.

Both Garcia and his passenger, 53-year-old Miami resident Maida Calzada, were wearing seat belts at the time but both still suffered minor injuries. Both individuals were taken by Caldwell County Ambulance to Cameron Regional Medical Center for treatment.
