Microsurfacing Treatment On U.S. Route 36 Near Wheeling And Marceline Postponed

A microsurfacing project on U.S. Highway 36 between Wheeling and Marceline has been postponed by a week.

Crews from Vance Brothers, Inc., working with MO-Dot, will be microsurfacing three separate sections of U.S. Route 36 at Wheeling and Marceline. The project was originally scheduled to begin on Monday, October 2, but has been postponed by one week until Monday, October 9 due to contractor delays.

Microsurfacing is a high-friction surface treatment to assist motorists with traction on the curved section of roadway.

During treatment application, crews will narrow U.S. Route 36 to one lane around each work zone. A reduced speed limit will be in place and flaggers will be at crossovers and intersections. A 16-foot width restriction will be in place.

Crews now expect to complete the treatment project on Monday, October 16.

As always all MO-Dot work is weather dependent and subject to change.
