Missouri Agriculture Announces Photo Contest Recognitions

Some of the region’s amateur photographers were recognized in the 2021 Focus on Missouri Agriculture Photo Contest through the Missouri Department of Agriculture. Photos submitted from those photographers 13 and older were placed in the categories of “Beauty of the Farm”, Faces of the Farm, the Farmer’s Life, and Pride of the Farm. Those photographers 12 and under were in the Children’s Barnyard category. A People’s Choice Award was also selected based on the number of shares when featured on Facebook.

Holly Brown of Webb City was judged as the Best in Show with a photograph entitled “Hold Still”.

 

Alyssa Goodspeed of Maryville won the Beauty of the Farm category with her entry named “Hills and Highlands”.

The runner-up in the category was Savannah’s Heather Emmendorfer with her entry “An Evening Cruise”.

 

Goodspeed also finished as the runner-up in the Pride of the Farm category with the entry “Big Red”.

Unionville’s Karrie Webb was also honorable mention in the Pride of the Farm category with the entry “Sunrise Serenity”.

Photos were judged by a panel of judges consisting of Heather Feeler and Lucas Bond, Department of Conservation; and Dane Hughes, Department of Commerce & Insurance.

The winning photos will be on display in the Agriculture Building throughout the Missouri State Fair, Aug. 12-22, 2021.
