Missouri American Red Cross Aiding In Disaster Relief

A friend in need is a friend indeed. The American Red Cross responds to disasters large and small across the world, and the Missouri chapter is no different.

Sharon Watson is the Regional Communications Director, she says volunteers are currently out helping in disaster recovery.

The American Red Cross responds to an emergency every 8 minutes so that people can have access to clean water, safe shelter, and hot meals when they are needed the most.

After the disaster is over, the organization provides emergency financial assistance and provides grants for community-based recovery services. 95% of the disaster relief workers are volunteers and most disasters they respond to are home fires.
