Missouri American Water Taking Over Orrick Water and Sewer

The Missouri Public Service Commission has this week approved a request filed by the Missouri-American Water Company seeking a certificate of convenience and necessity to install, own, acquire, operate and maintain a water and sewer system in and around the City of Orrick, in Ray County.

Missouri American Water will purchase substantially all of the water and sewer assets of the currently unregulated systems of Orrick, which serves approximately 335 water and sewer accounts. The residents of Orrick overwhelmingly approved selling the water and sewer system assets to Missouri American Water during the April 6, 2021 election.

Missouri American Water provides water service to approximately 470,000 customers and provides sewer service to approximately 15,000 customers in the state.
