Missouri Bill Aims To Fast Track Licensing Of Physicians, Social Workers & Counselors

Missouri could soon pick up the pace on licensing doctors who move to the state. Representative Patty Lewis, a Kansas City Democrat, is awaiting a decision from Governor Mike Parson on her bill.

It is for physicians who meet the eligibility requirements from another state that is a member of a multi-state agreement, known as the Interstate Medical Licensure Compact.

The legislation would also speed up licensing for social workers and counselors who move to Missouri from another state that is also a member of the multi-state agreement.
