Missouri Bill to Research Whether ‘Magic Mushrooms’ Help Some Veterans

Missouri is reviewing whether to let some military veterans use a psychedelic, referred to as magic mushrooms, to help treat certain illnesses.
Senator Holly Thompson Rehder wants to allow one of Missouri’s medical schools to study whether psilocybin helps veterans suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder, depression, and opioid addiction.
A Missouri Senate committee is scheduled to hold a hearing Tuesday on her bill.
