Missouri Democrat Gubernatorial Candidate Supports Local Gun Control
(MissouriNet) The so-far lone Democratic contender for Missouri’s governor’s office likes the idea of letting cities and counties decide for themselves if they should have stricter gun laws than the state currently allows.
Quade said, “I definitely support local control in most circumstances. It’s actually been something that I never realized in Jefferson City I’d have to fight so hard for, but when it comes to that conversation, I do agree with that. I’m really interested to see what that ballot language looks like and kind of where that discussion goes.”
Quade currently represents parts of Springfield and Greene County in the Missouri House and has served as House Minority Leader for the past 5 years. The only other two declared candidates for Missouri governor are both Republicans – Lieutenant Governor Mike Kehoe and Secretary of State Jay Ashcroft.
