Missouri Has a Registry for Convicted Sex Offenders, But it Does Not Have One for Convicted Murderers – Yet

(MISSOURINET) –  Missourians could have the ability to punch their address into an online database and see if any convicted murderers live near them.

At the public’s fingertips would be the same information as for sex offenders – a picture of the felon and their address.

A state Senate committee is deciding whether to expand the sex offender registry to show convicted murderers out on probation or parole.

Bill sponsor, state Representative Lane Roberts, responds to Representative Rasheen Aldridge’s argument questioning where you draw the line and if convicted burglars will be next to go on a registry.

Under the bill, the felons would be removed from the registry after completing parole.
