Missouri House Passes Nearly $47 Billion Plan, Leaving $2 Billion Unspent

(MISSOURINET) –  The Missouri House of Representatives is done with its budget work – for now.

It has passed a nearly 47-billion-dollar plan and still leaves roughly two-billion in unspent dollars.

State Representative Peter Merideth, a Democrat from St. Louis, begs lawmakers to give Missouri’s public colleges and universities an even larger boost than the more than 51-million additional dollars…

State Representative Rusty Black, a Republican from northwest Missouri’s Chillicothe, touts the higher education increases, including fully funding the state’s scholarship programs.

The budget plan heads to the Senate and more changes are likely on the horizon.
