Missouri Joins Multi-State Suit to Block Mask, Vaccine Mandates for Head Start Program

Missouri Attorney General Eric Schmitt has joined two dozen other states to sue the government over mask and vaccine mandates that would affect students and volunteers in the Head Start Program.

Head Start provides educational resources and supplies for children and their families.

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services says teachers and volunteers in Head Start Programs must be fully vaccinated by January 31st. Head Start students ages 2 years and older will be required to wear a mask, unless an exception is met.

Schmitt says the mandate will lead to job loss and prevent the program from reaching families that would benefit the most from it.

The lawsuit claims that the mandate overreaches the President’s authority while violating a number Acts and Doctrine.

Twenty-six states are a part of the the lawsuit that asks the mandates which apply to the Head Start program be blocked.
