Missouri Legislature Passes $49B State Budget Proposal

The Missouri Legislature has passed a roughly 49-billion-dollar state budget proposal that includes additional funding for the state’s public colleges and universities. It would also charge international college tuition rates to students who came to the U.S. illegally as young children. State Representative Ingrid Burnett, a Democrat from Kansas City, opposes the higher education budget bill and calls the effort “discriminatory”.

The next stop for the budget is the governor’s desk.
