Missouri Mosquito Season in Full Swing This Week

(MISSOURINET) – The mosquito season will be in full swing this week with temperatures expected to reach the 90s in the state.
University of Missouri Extension entomologist Tamra Reall (ree-all) says eliminating pools of water after rains or using sprinklers helps reduce the number of pests:
Reall recommends wearing long sleeves and long pants outside and applying a repellent containing DEET. She says spraying lawns and using foggers only prevent mosquitoes for a few hours.
