Missouri Receives P-SNAP Waiver For July
The Missouri Department of Social Services has announced that Missouri has received a waiver to provide Pandemic Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, or P-SNAP, benefits in July. With P-SNAP, each household receives the maximum SNAP amount for their household’s size. Missouri SNAP benefits will include a temporary 15 percent increase through September 30th.
The Department plans to mail a letter regarding upcoming SNAP changes to Missouri’s SNAP recipients. August will be the last month for P-SNAP benefits, and SNAP benefits recertification interviews resume. September will be last month for the temporary 15 percent SNAP increase. Regular SNAP benefits will resume in October.
The DSS strongly encourages families with students who qualified for free or reduced-price meals in previous school year to apply for Pandemic-Electronic Benefit Transfer (P-EBT) benefits by July 31, 2021. P-EBT helps families cover extra food costs they experienced during the pandemic.
