Missouri Senate Committee to Hold Wednesday Hearing on State Funding of Family Planning Centers Affiliated with Abortion Providers

Missouri state senators will hear several hours of testimony on Wednesday on the issue of abortion providers.

Missouri’s Senate Interim Committee on Medicaid Accountability and Taxpayer Protection will hold its second hearing on Wednesday from noon to 4 at the Statehouse in Jefferson City. Committee Chair State Senator Bill White of Joplin says the hearing’s focus will be to take public testimony regarding state funding of family planning centers affiliated with abortion providers.

Senator White describes Missouri as a pro-life state and says public testimony on Wednesday will be limited to five minutes per person, depending on the number of residents requesting to speak.

The committee is conducting a detailed study of Missouri’s Medicaid program.
